Detroit Jazz Festival

Downtown Detroit
The Detroit Jazz Festival presented by Quicken Loans is the world’s largest free jazz festival over Labor Day Weekend. There are more than 60 performances spanning multiple stages.
Arts, Beats & Eats

Royal Oak
The 21st Annual Ford Arts, Beats & Eats takes place in Downtown Royal Oak. The festival offers more than 200 performances on nine stages, more than 50 local food vendors and artists from all over the country. This year’s big musical guests include Eddie Money and the Gin Blossoms.
Mackinac Bridge Walk
Sept. 3
The walk begins at 7 a.m. and you can start walking any time after Gov. Snyder’s party begins. No one will be allowed to start after 11:30 a.m. It will start on both ends of the bridge, from St. Ignace and Mackinaw City, and people can walk from either end of the bridge, turn around at the mid-point and then walk back to where you started. Beginning at 10 a.m., the turnaround point will be moved toward the end of the bridge.
Romeo Peach Festival
Aug. 30- Sept. 3
Romeo
The Michigan Peach Festival of Romeo is one of the oldest festivals in the state, dating back to 1931.Every Labor Day weekend, Romeo hosts many events based around its prized crop, the peach. Events include parades, bed races, craft shows, and more.
Hamtramck Labor Day Festival
Sept 1-3, noon to 10 p.m.
This year’s Hamtramck Labor Day Festival is sponsored by HATCH. The celebration features yacht races down Jos. Campau, and as always, there will be plenty of music, food and fun, with two separate stages, booths from a number of restaurants and a full line-up of carnival rides. Admission is free.
This year’s Labor Day Parade is put on by Local 2280. The parade will go down Michigan Avenue in Corktown Monday, starting at 9:30 a.m.
